Free Friday with Astronomy Night
Join us for Astronomy Nights—FREE, fun, and educational for the whole family! Enjoy talks from top scientists, hands-on activities, and demos led by museum educators. Local astronomers will be on-site with powerful telescopes to guide you through the night sky and answer your stargazing questions. Bring your own binoculars or use the experts' telescopes!

Access Family Program: Navigation: Finding Your Way (Children)
From ships to planes, vessels of all types rely on navigation to find their way. Families will explore historic navigation tools and techniques used at sea and make connections to how we navigate the world today.
About Access Family Programs: The Intrepid Museum offers special programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Enjoy a guided tour and inclusive art-making activities on select Sundays. Morning sessions are for children and afternoon sessions are for teens and adults.

Walk – In! Workshop: Gilding With Gold
Inspired by Rembrandt, Warhol, Klimt, Demuth, young artists will free draw or paint then use gold leaf or metallics with glue to “wash” over the work.

Family Day: Celebrating Women’s History Month
Join us for a vibrant day of art, music, and poetry celebrating women artists! Experience workshops led by local artists, face-painting, and an immersive presentation by Sharoll Fernandez Siñani. This event brings together Spanish, Aymara, and English-speaking communities to honor the power of cultural dialogue and oral traditions. Free admission.

Seen and Unseen: Noguchi in China
Join us for a free, virtual tour exploring the art of Isamu Noguchi, designed specifically for blind individuals and adults with low vision. Led by trained educators, this program offers engaging discussions through verbal description.

Art for Tots (Ages 1–2): Akari
Introduce your little one to the world of art through sensory exploration in this special session of Art for Tots, designed for children ages 1–2 and their caregivers. This month, discover Noguchi’s Akari light sculptures, crafted from paper and bamboo, and engage in hands-on activities inspired by traditional Japanese lantern-making.

Sunday Funday: Time Together with Guggenheim Family Programs
Celebrate the final day of Harmony and Dissonance: Orphism in Paris, 1910–1930 with a family-friendly day of art and exploration. Build your own adventure with hands-on activities, guided gallery tours, and creative projects inspired by the exhibition. Free with advance registration—space is limited!

Art for Families: Relationships
Families with children ages 5–11 are invited to explore the theme of relationships through conversations in the galleries and hands-on art-making in the Education Studio (Level C). This month, discover how Isamu Noguchi captured familial connections in his work and create your own clay portraits inspired by his art.
Space is limited—advance registration is required. Program registration includes Museum admission. Free for Family-level members, SNAP/WIC recipients, and Cool Culture members.

Join us for a creative family-friendly experience at the Brooklyn Museum! Explore the Arts of Asia galleries, then create your own sketches inspired by the exhibits. This program is free with museum admission, and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Day of Remembrance @Noguchi 2/19/25
In honor of Day of Remembrance, The Noguchi Museum offers free admission on Wednesday, February 19. Reflect on the impact of Executive Order 9066 and explore archival materials on Isamu Noguchi’s voluntary incarceration at Poston. A special display will be on view from February 6–23 in the Education Studio. For group reservations or private tours, email education@noguchi.org.

Drawing from a Distance @Noguchi
Join a free virtual drawing program every third Monday, exploring Isamu Noguchi’s work in a mindful and supportive space. Engage in art-making, reflective discussion, and guided drawing exercises, no experience needed. Register to receive a Zoom link and bring your own drawing materials.

MOCACREATE: Light, Bright Lanterns with Teaching Artist Yu Rong
Celebrate the Lantern Festival on February 12 by crafting colorful paper lanterns to mark the end of Lunar New Year festivities. Add traditional riddles or create your own for a fun and festive touch!

Family Day: Celebrating Black Excellence @ Queens Museum
Celebrate Black artists and heritage with a day of art-making workshops, movie screenings, and storytime sessions! Participate in workshops like Affirmation Cards & Coloring Pages of Black Artists (1–4pm) or join the Stapledon Arts Workshop (1–2:30pm, RSVP). Enjoy a selection of short films like Hair Love and Cinderella, and family-friendly storytime at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, or 3:00 pm. All ages are welcome for a fun-filled day of creativity and culture!

Discover the galleries through Isamu Noguchi’s words and engage in art and writing as a means of healing and reflection. Free with admission, no registration required.

This program offers art-making and gallery exploration activities for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. Each month features a new theme and activities for all participants. Museum Explorers runs from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm for children, while OpenStudios takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm for teens and adults, providing a creative space to engage with peers and explore the arts.

Families with children ages 5–11 are invited to explore light in Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures and create mixed-media paper artworks inspired by Lunar New Year. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Free for eligible members and SNAP/WIC recipients.

MOCAKIDS: Chinese New Year Coloring & Activity Book Launch
Celebrate the Year of the Snake with Brooklyn author Michele Wong McSween as she launches Gordon & Li Li’s: Celebrate Chinese New Year Coloring & Activity Book! Join us on January 29, 2025, at 2 PM for interactive storytelling, bilingual activities, crafts, and a book signing. Perfect for families with kids ages 3-8. Join MOCA for MOCACREATE: Lunar New Year Museum Makeover! Help us welcome the Year of the Snake by crafting colorful decorations with teaching artist Yu Rong. Your creations will be displayed throughout the Museum during the Lunar New Year Family Festival. Perfect for families and open to all!

Art for Tots (Ages 3–4): Gardens
Join us for Art for Tots (3–4), a program designed for preschoolers and their caregivers. This month, explore stones and sand through Noguchi’s sculptures inspired by Japanese gardens. The program includes gallery exploration and strategies for navigating museum spaces with young children. Registration includes full admission to the Museum.

Share the Toy: Fifth Annual Toy Drive and Giveaway
Spread the holiday cheer by joining our 5th Annual Toy Drive! From November 21 to December 15, drop off new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–14 at the Admissions Desk.
On Sunday, December 15, from 11 AM–2 PM, pick up gifts for your little ones while supplies last. Remaining toys will be donated to local family shelters.
Free and open to all, in partnership with the Kinnect Foundation.

Open Studio: Water and Stone
Families with children of all ages are invited to explore the galleries and enjoy a creative art-making activity in the Education Studio (Level C).
This month, discover the magic of suminagashi, a Japanese technique that uses floating ink on water to create mesmerizing marbled patterns.
