ShopRite Kidz Cook: Spring Salad

Join our ShopRite Kidz Cook team at the museum! Young cooks will choose ingredients to make a delicious and nutritious salad.

ShopRite Kidz Cook at Staten Island Children’s Museum is a caregiver-and-me program that introduces children to a diversity of foods, explains cooking concepts and helps build dexterity with cooking utensils.

Every hour starting at: 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm

Intro to Composting Workshop

Join us for a hands-on overview of composting, hosted by Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden! We encourage families to bring food scraps that they can contribute along with “browns” such as leaves and pine needles to a compost bin in a lasagna style. Participants will have the opportunity to meet worms who are an integral part of a good compost.

Showtime At The Museum: Educational Theatre!

Come with us as we take a tour of the “Mainstages: Educational Theatre.” Museum participants will discover interesting videos and music while bringing history to life through movement, music, improv, and critical thinking activities inspired by global cultures.

This month’s theme, “Crafty Construction,” invites kids to unleash their creativity by designing their very own theatrical experience. Participants will bring their imaginative scenes to life in a fun and interactive way. Join us for hands-on excitement and endless possibilities!

Practice Reading with a Pooch @ S.I. Children's Museum

Therapy dogs from Luv on a Leash are eager to hear stories read to them by our visitors. The dogs are well-trained, registered, and insured therapy dogs who love literature and will listen without judgement or comment. They hope to help children improve their reading ability, build confidence and develop a life-long love of books. Visitors are welcome to bring their favorite reads. Limited Availability.

A spooky celebration where young robots, superheroes, princesses, animals, ghosts, mummies, witches, and more are all invited for a fantastic trick-or-treating adventure. Get ready for a ghoulishly good time with an abundance of Halloween candy, creative crafts, and an exciting bounce house, all included with admission. ¡Corre, Abuelita, Run! a bilingual puppet performance @ SI Children's Museum

In Spanish and English, New York City Children’s Theater Company presents the story ¡Corre, Abuelita, Run! It’s the first Sunday in November, and Emily’s Abuelita is running in the NYC marathon! Emily made a sign that reads “¡Corre, Abuelita, Run!” that she wants to hold up as Abuelita runs through the finish line – but she needs your help to travel through the five boroughs and get to Central Park in time to celebrate!
